Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has been released from incarceration. The popular crossdresser was convicted on April 5 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for the offense of mutilating naira notes. The EFCC had charged him with four counts related to currency abuse.
Bobrisky admitted guilt in front of Justice A.O. Awogboro at the Federal High Court in Lagos. Following his release on August 5, 2024, he was spotted celebrating with friends. In a video that surfaced, Bobrisky and his companions were seen enjoying Mohbad’s and Chike’s song “Egwu.”
His friends expressed their joy with statements like, “We are out of prison. Congratulations, Bobrisky.”
